Ateneo shoot for No. 4 vs Perpetual

Unbeaten Ateneo faces its toughest test thus far as it battles NCAA titlist Perpetual Help in a key matchup in the V-League Men's Collegiate Challenge on Wednesday at the Paco Arena in Manila.

The Blue Eagles, whose keenly awaited clash with school arch rivals La Salle Green Spikers last Friday was postponed due to stormy weather, set out against the Altas at 4 p.m. of another four-game bill, looking to extend their run following victories over the Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals and the San Beda and Far Eastern U sides.

Perpetual, on the other hand, seeks to break a 2-2 card with a win in an attempt to bolster its own semis drive in the tournament organized by Sports Vision and backed by Bola.TV, Beyond Active Wear, Asics and Mikasa.

In the other men’s clash at 2 p.m., National U and La Salle, with identical 2-1 slates, dispute solo third behind Ateneo and idle UST (4-1) with the Bulldogs are expected to play inspired ball with the return of coach Dante Alinsunurin, who guided Choco Mucho to a bronze medal finish in the VTV Cup in Vietnam recently.

In women's play, NCAA rivals College of Saint Benilde tangles with Mapua U at 10 a.m. while Perpetual Help tests NAASCU champ Enderun Colleges’ mettle at 12 noon.
