Enderun embraces opportunity to face UAAP, NCAA teams in V-L

With an experienced coach now leading its women's volleyball program, Enderun Colleges is starting to establish its reputation.

Coach Dong Dela Cruz, however, aims to raise the level of the reigning NAASCU champions.

As a result, the team is grateful for the opportunity to participate in the 2023 V-League Collegiate Challenge.

"We really took advantage of this opportunity to join because we are just beginning to introduce ourselves to other schools and to gain experience," shared team captain Mikaela Ramirez.

And what an experience it has been so far—suffering a disheartening defeat against the University of the East and then making a strong comeback with a reverse sweep against San Sebastian College-Recoletos just last Sunday.

The graduating senior in Hospitality Management admitted that their debut against the Lady Warriors felt like a baptism of fire.

"We were surprised because it's our first time playing against UAAP and NCAA teams. We experienced culture shock, but when we play well, we are able to adjust," Ramirez said.

The Lady Titans then delivered a strong performance against the Lady Stags in the subsequent game, securing their first win of the tournament. Ramirez is hopeful that this victory is an indication of better things to come.

"Perhaps in every game, we need to win," said the libero, describing their forward-looking mindset.

"That's our mindset as champions, of course, that's our pride. So, with every step and every game, we should aim to achieve victory."
