Tina Salak set to migrate to US

In a surprising turn of events, Tina Salak, the esteemed head coach of the FEU Lady Tamaraws, announced her departure from the team to pursue an exciting opportunity in the United States.

The news broke on Friday, leaving both players and fans in a bittersweet state as they bid farewell to a beloved mentor.

The official statement released by the school expressed gratitude for Salak's contributions to the team and revealed that she would remain connected to the Lady Tamaraws as a consultant during her transition. This move allows Salak to continue guiding the team from afar as she embarks on a new chapter in her coaching career.

Salak took the reins from George Pascua as the head coach of the FEU Lady Tamaraws.

Her coaching prowess was evident as she led the team to a commendable fifth-place finish in the 2022 V-League Collegiate Challenge.

During her one-year tenure, Salak successfully turned the team's fortunes around, culminating in a remarkable 6-8 record in UAAP Season 84—a remarkable five-win improvement from the previous season.

Under Salak's guidance, a number of rising stars emerged within the Lady Tamaraws' roster. Players such as Chenie Tagaod, Mitzui Panangin, Alyzza Devosora, Jean Asis, Alex Juangco, and the talented Jov Fernandez flourished, leaving a lasting impact on the team's legacy. Salak's ability to nurture and develop young talent not only improved the performance of the Lady Tamaraws but also elevated the players' individual skills.

As the FEU Lady Tamaraws bid farewell to their esteemed coach, they will be entrusted to the capable hands of Manolo Refugia, who will serve as the interim head coach for the upcoming 2023 V-League Collegiate Challenge.
