Ubaldo steers FEU past LPU in 4 for share of lead

Far Eastern University displayed resilience in the final stretch to preserve its flawless record against Lyceum of the Philippines University, clinching victory in four sets at the 2023 V-League Collegiate Challenge held on Wednesday at the Paco Arena in Manila.

The Lady Tamaraws triumphed over the Lady Pirates with a score of 25-17, 25-16, 23-25, 25-19, securing their spot at the top of the standings alongside the University of the East, both with a 4-0 record.

"Kasi Nung third set, more on ako naman kasi was trying yung mga second stringers. So para sa 'kin, good job pa rin naman pinakita nila," interim head coach Manolo Refugia said.

"Kami naman, hindi kami nag-look forward na kailangan ganito. Kung ano 'yung nasa harap namin, 'yun yung kailangan naming trabahuhin," he added when asked on solidifying their semifinal chances.

Tin Ubaldo orchestrated the Lady Tamaraws' offensive with 16 excellent sets, which the team efficiently converted into 54 attack points.

Keisha Bedonia contributed 11 attack points, accumulating a total of 13 points.

Janeth Tulang and Johna Dolorito led the charge for LPU with 14 points each, yet their efforts fell short as the Lady Pirates endured their fourth consecutive defeat.
