UST regained its winning ways, ripping San Sebastian, 25-20, 25-15, 25-15, in the other classification match in women’s play of the 2022 V-League Collegiate Challenge on Friday.
Camille Victoria’s back-to-back hits put the Golden Tigresses at match point before Mary Grace Vernaiz wrapped it up with an ace.
UST will next face FEU for fifth place while relegating SSC to a battle for seventh with San Beda.
"Tapusin namin ito on a high note. Hindi man kami naka-pasok sa Top Four, at least makuha namin yung fifth," said UST head coach Kungfu Reyes. "Kaya naman kami sumasali rito para matuto."
Rookie setter Cassie Carballo proved solid for the Tigresses, putting up an 10-excellent set showing to go along with four points, including three aces.
Victoria led UST’s assault with 11 points, including eight kills.
Kristine Dionisio led the Lady Stags with eight points on seven spikes and an ace, while Vea Sison ended with six digs and six excellent sets.
