UST drew big games from three of its starters and another superb playmaking chores from Dux Yambao as the Tiger Spikers hacked out a 25-19, 22-25, 25-15, 25-23 victory over La Salle on Sunday to enhance its bid in the V-League Men’s Collegiate Challenge at the Paco Arena in Manila.
Rey de Vega hammered out 14 attacks to finish with 19 points while John Dedoroy and Josh Ybanez backed him up with 12 and 11 points, respectively, with Yambao producing 21 excellent sets for the España-based squad, which improved to 2-1 in Pool A.
“Medyo na-address at na-lessen na yung errors namin, tapos yung sistema medyo yung level of play ng mga players medyo nasa 70 percent na,” said UST head coach Odjie Mamon.
UST will take on Adamson on Friday to cap off its group stage campaign while La Salle faces another tough challenge when it plays unbeaten National U on Wednesday.
