Nisperos shares MVP honor with teammates

Faith Nisperos deflected the credit to her teammates after winning both the Conference and Finals Most Valuable Player awards in the 2022 V-League Women’s Collegiate Challenge, Wednesday night at the Paco Arena.

Nisperos was awarded the Conference MVP and the 1st Best Outside Hitter award just moments before Ateneo de Manila University took on Adamson University in Game Two of the Collegiate Conference finale.

“I really want to improve more and I think this is just one step forward for me and syempre UAAP is still the main goal. Marami pa akong gustong ma-improve sa sarili ko,” Nisperos said after the win.

“Di ko makukuha itong mga MVP na ‘to if not for the team’s effort,” she added.

The 22-year-old outside hitter dropped a tournament-best 35 points in the Blue Eagles’ five-set win over the Soaring Falcons in Game One before putting up a game-high 15 points in the title-clinching Game Two win.

Aside from Nisperos, Vanie Gandler and Roma Doromal was named to the league’s Mythical Team as well. Gandler took the 2nd Best Outside Hitter while Doromal was awarded the Best Libero award.
