V-League games postponed due to weather conditions

The V-League Collegiate Challenge matches scheduled for Wednesday (Sept. 4) have been postponed due to weather conditions, with parts of Metro Manila still affected by widespread flooding, according to the organizing Sports Vision, prioritizing the safety of players, staff and fans.

The rescheduled date for the matches has yet to be announced, but Sports Vision assured that tickets purchased for Wednesday's games will remain valid. It also expressed its gratitude to fans for their understanding and continued support.

Wednesday's lineup was set to feature an exciting women's division clash between the UST and Letran, alongside highly anticipated men's division matches – Ateneo vs Perpetual Help, and National U against De La Salle U, at the Paco Arena in Manila.

Although Tropical Storm Enteng exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Wednesday morning, it continues to intensify the southwest monsoon, resulting in gusty winds and heavy rainfall across the western regions of Luzon, including Metro Manila.

While wind signals have been lifted, the storm-enhanced monsoon rains are forecasted to persist until Friday. As of 5 a.m. Wednesday, PAGASA has issued an orange heavy rainfall warning for Bataan and a yellow warning for Zambales, Pampanga, Bulacan and Metro Manila.

In response to the adverse conditions, the Manila Mayor’s Office has also directed schools to adopt alternative learning modalities. UST has shifted to Enhanced Virtual Mode of Instruction and implemented a remote work arrangement for the day.
